It's been three days and I feel sufficiently recovered to document the most recent MAMPAM which celebrated the births of England cricket captain Archie McLaren, Eric Bloom of Blue Oyster Cult, and Germany's most lovable cannibal, Armin Meiwes, taking place as it did on 1st December.
This was a nice and destructive MAMPAM, in which we all got secret Santa presents, the secrecy of which was rendered void by Alex's excitement and desire to assume organisational duties.
So, the presents were:
Jon: The Thick Of It complete boxed set on DVD (from Ben)
Ben: The BH Simmons 2011 MAMPAM Christmas Compilation CD (from Dan)
Dan: a T-Shirt with the aphorism "dan! dan! dan! dan! dan! dan! dan! dan! dan! dan! dan! dan! dan! dan! dan! dan! dan! dan! dan! dan! dan! dan! dan! dan! dan! dan! dan! dan! dan! dan! dan!" on it (from Alex)
Alex: some Spontaneous Combustion Hot Sauce (from Jon)
There was much merriment, including renditions of the classic song 'BH Simmons'...
... traditional, seasonal favourite The Twelve Days of MAMPAM...
... and Jon receiving Dan.
The regular bibulosity was fortified by some fortified wine which, like sand during sex on the beach, got everywhere. The movie which was enjoyed by precisely nobody was Santa Claus Conquers The Martians, and a good time was enjoyed by all!
